Robert Grasso is a Sydney-based sports presenter, producer and reporter with SBS Television. He is currently a Sports Presenter for the network's flagship news program, World News Australia, nightly from 6.30pm.
Robert is one of SBS' longest serving members having worked on some of the station's biggest sporting events including the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2001 and 2003 IAAF Athletics World Championships.

Early career
With a degree in Commerce (Marketing), he began his career as a publicist for SBS TV promoting News and Current Affairs and Sport.
After attending the Australian Film, TV and Radio School and Max Rowley Media Academy, he embarked on a career in radio.
His big break in television came in 1997, working as a weekend reporter on SBS TV's nightly sports show, Toyota World Sports.
Athletics
SBS is regarded as the home of athletics in Australia with the network screening live coverage of every IAAF World Championship since 2001.
He developed a love of track and field and covered the sport both domestically and internationally from 2001 to 2005.
Robert presented the domestic athletics season around Australia in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney during that period culminating with the annual National Finals.
He was the producer of the much acclaimed European Golden League series which features the world's best athletes.
Internationally, Robert was an integral member of the 2001 and 2003 IAAF World Championships.
Awards
Robert has been recognised for his coverage of various sports throughout his career.
His awards include the 1998 Soccer Australia Media Award, 2000 Tennis Australia Media Award and 2003-2005 Athletics Australia Media Award.
Today
After joining Soccer NSW in 2005 and producing the ground-breaking TV show "Football Stars of Tomorrow", Robert returned to SBS in 2007 as a respected member of the World News Australia Sports Department.
He is part of the producing team and also presents the Sports News bulletin along with Craig Foster and Mike Tomalaris.
