Born in 1789 inFrankfort, Kentucky , he served in the Illinois General Assembly was instrumental in obtaining passage of a bill in January 1829 creating Macoupin County. The city ofCarlinville, Illinois is named in his honor. He died in 1852 inCarrollton, Illinois .References
