Biography
Her family bought and owned Liberty Records a parent company to EMI (now part of Capitol Records) for $12 million dollars in 1963[1][2][3] Avnet's family also bought Blue Note Records, Imperial Records, Dolton Records, Aladdin Records and Minit Records.[4][5]
In the 1990s, Avnet took her family's appreciation of music further and made it into her career. She became a lyricist where she wrote a song for Fire Birds starring Nicolas Cage and Tommy Lee Jones and later became a Director of Music Placement, placing music in network television shows and well known Hollywood movies. Cindi is also a philanthropist whose company throws music related events to raise money for various charities. In the Fall of 2008, Cindi will be opening the doors to her music management company, Avnet Management.[6][7]
