Ivan Klinec

Ivan Klinec (born May 13, 1961) is a Slovak economist, forecastor and futurist. He has been working in the Institute for Forecasting [http://www.progeko.savba.sk/pu/pu.php /SAS (Slovak Academy of Sciences)] from the year 1989. From the year 1986 till the year 1989 he worked in the Institute for Economics SAS. He lives in Bratislava, capital of Slovak Republic.

Futures Studies Activities

He is a chairman of the Futurological Society in Slovakia and a member of [http://www.wfs.org /the World Future Society] and [http://www.transhumanism.org/index.php/WTA/index/the World Transhumanist Association] .From the year 1997 he has participated in activities of the largest world futures studies project "The Millennium Project of American Council for United Nations University", from the year 2007 known as [http://www.millennium-project.org/"The Millennium Project of World Federation of United Nations Associations WFUNA"] . He is co-chair of the Central-European Node and chair of the Slovak Subnode of this project. He is a member of the committee of Slovak Association of the Club of Rome and also a member of the committee of [/http://www.sweb.cz/ofs/ Civic Futurological Society in Prague] .

Scientific Orientation

His main topics of interest are futurology, futures studies, economic theory, alternative economic and social theories, transhumanism, methodology of futures studies and social sciences, scenario thinking.He is the author of the holistic theory of economics. He designed several sets of long-term scenarios e.g. Slovakia 2030 - Scenarios for the Information Society, Slovakia - EU 2025 - Integration Scenarios, Euro 2025 - Scenarios of Transition of Slovakia to Euro.He is co-author of government Strategy of Sustainable Development for Slovakia coordinted by UNDP and REC Slovakia..
