Reflections of My Life

Reflections of My Life

Classic multi million seller by the Scots band The Marmalade, written by lead guitarist Junior Campbell , and singer Dean Ford (Thomas MacAleese). Released in late 1969, it was the band's first Decca release following their "pop" years at CBS. It went on to chart worldwide, including a #10 peak on Billboard in the USA.

A haunting, cleverly crafted timeless song, allegedly written with Vietnam connotations, the song still holds up today.

The track features lead vocal by Dean Ford backed by strong harmonies, and includes a "reverse tape" guitar solo by Campbell.

Reflections of My Life has produced sales of over two million units. In 1998 the writers were awarded a Special Citation of Achievement by BMI for attaining radio broadcast performances in excess of one million in the USA alone.

The track resurfaced recently on film soundtracks as diverse as the historic Good Friday Peace Campaign in N Ireland, 1998, and Inside Deep Throat, the film biography of Linda Lovelace.

The original recording can be found on two Sanctuary Records compilations,- "Marmalade" "The Ultimate Collection" and "Rainbow - The Decca Years" (Sanctuary Records.com) and is also available on Rhino Records' "Have a Nice Day" Volume 3. The latter features the shorter single version.
