- Jaeger Hills
Jaeger Hills (coord|75|30|S|65|40|W|) is a group of hills and
nunatak s, rising to about 1,000 m and running NE-SW for 24 miles (38 km) betweenMatthews Glacier andMcCaw Ridge on theOrville Coast ,Ellsworth Land . The feature was mapped byUnited States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys andU.S. Navy aerial photographs, 1961-67. It was visited in 1977-78 by a USGS geological party, led byPeter D. Rowley , and named after CommanderJames W. Jaeger , U.S. Navy,Commanding Officer ,Antarctic Development Squadron Six , 1977-78, and command pilot of the LC-130 aircraft in support of the USGS party.
