mile s (32 km), located 7mile s (11 km) south of theSchirmacher Hills inQueen Maud Land , Discovered and plotted from air photos byGerman Antarctic Expedition , 1938-39. Mapped from air photos and surveys byNorwegian Antarctic Expedition , 1956-60; remapped bySoviet Antarctic Expedition , 1960-61, and named after theInstitute of Arctic Geology .
