Čegrane

Čegrane (Macedonian: Чегране; Albanian: Çegran) is a village in the Polog statistical region of the Republic of Macedonia. The village lies in the east, approximately 7 km in distance from Gostivar. It has a population of approximately 10000 inhabitants.

During the Kosovo War, Čegrane was used a makeshift camp for ethnic Albanian refugees, set up by the Red Cross and Médecins Sans Frontières in the area called Rudine. It is said to have accommodated around 45000 people undertaking humanitarian care, until they were given a safe passage back to Kosovo.
