Hans Eiberg, (born
1945 ) is a Danishgeneticist , known for the discovery of thegenetic mutation causing blue eyes.Hans Eiberg graduated as
M.Sc. in 1970. Since 1971 he has worked with genetics at the Institute for Medical Biochemistry and Genetics,Copenhagen University and in 1975 he became associate professor at the institute.Together with professor
Jan Mohr he established Copenhagen Family Bank in 1972, a store ofDNA samples, comprising about 1000 large Danish families.Hans Eiberg has contributed to the mapping of the
human genome , and he has succeeded in finding important genetic markers for several serious illnesses such ascystic fibrosis ,Batten disease and various diseases of the eye. He also showed thatbedwetting is a hereditary disease rather than a psychologic disturbance.Hans Eiberg has written more than 250 articles published in international
