Russia along the northern border ofMongolia . Dialects include Ekhirit, Unga, Ninzne-Udinsk, Barguzin, Tunka, Oka, Alar, Bohaan, Bulagat. It is heavily influenced by Russian. Russia Buriat is the official language of theBuryat Republic ofRussia . The variety used in newspapers is that of the area aroundIrkutsk , west ofLake Baikal . The dialects east of Lake Baikal are less influenced by Russian and become more like Mongolia Buriat. Russia Buriat differs considerably from China Buriat and Mongolia Buriat. [Raymond G.
