Wagner Home

The Wagner Homestead was built (c1857) by a white pioneer, William Wagner age 21, who came to Miami (Florida) with Everline, his Creole wife, age 38 since the interracial marriage was more accepted in the remote frontier. [The Wagner Family: Pioneer Life on the Miami Riverby Margot Ammidown.]

The home is located in Lummus Park on the north side of the Miami River (Florida) at NW 4th Avenue and NW 3rd Street. It is the oldest known home still standing in Miami. [Time Out Guides Limited, 2001 p.87]
