Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong

Consulate Gneral of Canada in Hong Kong is one of several Canadian consulates in the People's Republic of China, and one of many foreign consulates in Hong Kong. Owing to Hong Kongs' unique history as a former member of the Commonwealth, Canada's mission in Hong Kong once had the title of High Commission.

Canada's mission does not have its own chancery building, likely due to Hong Kong's lack of office space and high rents. Instead it is located in Exchange Square on the 11th to 15th floors. The mission has been located in this building since the 1980s.

Thh history of Canadian diplomatic missions in the territory began in 1928 as the Canadian Trade Commission. The Hong Kong mission reports to Canadian Ambassador to China in Beijing.

Prior to 1980, the High Commissioner also served as the Consul-General to Macao.

The current is consul-gneral Gerry Campbell, who previously served in the former High Commissioner prior to 1997.
