Renier of St Laurent

Renier of St Laurent [Reiner, Reinerus monachus S. Laurentii Leodiensis, Reinierus Leodiensis, Rainerus.] (died 1188) was a twelfth-century Benedictine monk of St Laurent Abbey, Liège. He known as a writer, of theological and exegetical works [Miri Rubin, "Corpus Christi: The Eucharist in Late Medieval Culture" (1991), p. 165.] , controversial and historical works, and numerous biographical and hagiographical works [LeahShopkow (translator), "The History of the Counts of Guines and Lords of Ardres By Lambert of Ardres" (2007), p. 206.] . Works by him are in "Patrologia Latina" and "Monumenta Germaniae Historica".

The "Triumphale Bulonicum" [In "Monumenta Germaniae Historica, Scriptores", t. XX; "Patrologia Latina" 204.] is a chronicle and commemorates the 1141 siege of the Château de Bouillon by Albéron II, the prince-bishop of Liège [André Joris (editor), "Villes: affaires-mentalités : autour du pays mosan" (1993), p. 396.] .
