Fríða Dís Guðmundsdóttir or commonly known as Fríða Dís (born February 15 1987) is an Icelandic vocalist, bassist, and flutist from Sandgerði, Iceland. She currently resides in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavík, where she plays and performs as the lead singer of the new Icelandic blues band, Klassart.

Musical Background

Fríða Dís has been involved with music since she was very young in childhood. She began learning to play the flute in her hometown of Sandgerði from an American flutist up until the age of 12. At the age of 14, she began to study and play the bass, which she still does to this day. Since 2006, she has been actively involved in as the lead singer of Klassart, an Icelandic blues band based in Reykjavík. This band was started with the bassist and her brother, Smári Guðmundsson. They have released an album in 2007 featuring Fríða Dís as the lead singer, although most of the songs are written by her brother Smári Guðmundsson. With Klassart, she mainly sings in English, although on the latest album there is one song that is sung by her in Icelandic called "Örlagablús".
