Central Power Research Institute popularly known as CPRI is a premier research institute engaged in field of electric power in India. This institute is located at Bangalooru in Karnataka state. The institute now has its units at Bhopal, Guwahati and Hyderabad. The institute has research and testing facilities for conducting on high voltage electrical equipments and machinaries. It was started in 1960.The institute is an autonomous society under ministry of power, Government of India.
