Vikruthamala

Vikruthamala is a small village in Yerpedu Mandal in the chittor district in Andhra pradesh, India. During the 20th century, this village was administered by Srikalahasti Raja, at which time it was named Reddy Pani. Reddyvari Narayana Reddy was the head of this and 6 other villages at this time. The majority of people in this village are farmers. This area produces peanuts, milk and sugarcane. The village has a very old temple dedicated to Lord Rama which has not yet been fully studied. The gopuram of this temple made of 5 metals( panchalohas) was stolen in 2008. School buildings are being built on part of the temple land. The village celebrates Hindu festivals and the local festival, Gangamma Jaathara. Youth of this village like cricket and they also participate in the tournaments conducted by the RASS-Rayalaseema Seva Samithi.

Bhaskar Reddy and Hemakshi founded Vinayaka Vidhyardhi Sangam, Prabhakar Reddy promoted it and it is still organised by youth in the village. It is quite famous in and around Vikruthamala.
