Originally founded as the
Humboldt Indians , the team moved to Estevan in1957 . The team was a founding member of theWestern Hockey League in1966 . They won the President's Cup in 1967–68. In1971 the WHL Bruins moved toNew Westminster, British Columbia , where they became theNew Westminster Bruins .
