Rosario Central but was quickly signed forFC Barcelona .Barcelona loaned him out to
FC Porto ofPortugal and thenElche CF ofSpain before he joined up with the club in 1974. Heredia was part of the team that won theCopa del Rey in 1976 and theUEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1978-79.In 1979 Heredia returned to Argentina to play for River Plate where he helped the club to win two league championships in the early 1980s. Towards the end of his career he had a short spell with
