November 15 ,1872 inVilna -January 21 ,1933 inWarsaw ,Poland ) was a Polishvice-admiral .Porebski's military career started in the
Russian Navy , where he served in the position of arear-admiral . After Poland regained its independence, he became the firstcommander-in-chief of thePolish Navy .In 1918 he founded the "Bandera Polska" (Polish jack) association. In 1920 he initiated the opening of the Navy School in
Tczew and the purchasing of the training sailing-ship "Lwów". He was also the first one who proposed and presented projects of expansion of the Polish fleet and the military harbor inGdynia .He died on January 21, 1933 in Warsaw and was buried in the Powązki Cemetery.
