- Banishment in the Bible
Banishment or
Exile can be a form ofpunishment . It means to be away from one's home (i.e.city ,state orcountry ) while either being explicitly refused permission to return and/or being threatened byprison or death upon return. As it is a common theme within theBible with one of its earliest references,Adam & Eve , continuing with a form of banishment that includesJesus . Genesis Chapter 3
