The War of Deliverence as mentioned inThe Last Battle .One should note that this is based on the Battle of Beruna in the 2008 film Prince Caspian. Prince Caspian's army had already suffered numerous casualties in a failed assault on Miraz's Castle. Miraz most likely sought to exploit his victory and destroy the Narnians once and for all at their home base. High King Peter and Prince Caspian knew they probably would not survive against Miraz in open battle and so as to also bide time for Susan and Lucy to find
Aslan , they sent Miraz a challenge for single combat against Peter, a boy half his age. Miraz felt he was bound by honor to agree though it would annul his numerical advantage. The marshalls for Miraz were his generals Glozelle, Sopesian and Gregoirre while the marshalls for Peter were the centaur Glenstorm, the giant Wimblewether and the eldest Bulgy Bear. Edmund and Caspian were also watching Peter as he fought Miraz. In the ensuing conflict, Peter defeated Miraz but left the choice of killing or sparing Miraz to Caspian who decided to spare him. Miraz was unfortunately, then killed by his general Sopespian and it seemed that battle would break out anyway. The Battle
In the movie, The Second Battle of Beruna was fought between the Telemarines and the Narnians. The Telemarines number several thousand infantry, approximately five hundred cavalry, and many trebuchets while the Narnians number about five hundred archers and a number of heavy infantry in and out of Aslan's How. Queen Susan has returned to the battle site after being saved by Caspian. After the duel between Miraz and Peter, Sopespian betrayed and slew Miraz and rallied the Telmarine army to battle. The Narnians may have been shocked as this breaks the truce. The Telmarines begun the battle by sending several hundred heavy cavalry men, who make up the bulk of their mounted units. It is likely that the Narnians anticipated such a move since Caspian and the rest of the Narnian troops ran through the underground caverns of Aslan's How and cut down the stalactites which caused the tunnel to collapse, surprising and effectually disabling the cavalry since the attack was perfectly timed. At that moment, Susan and the archers immediately fired a volley of arrows into what remains of the Telmarine cavalry and two dwarves opened a secret gate in Aslan's How, letting out Prince Caspian's soldiers while a squad of troops who stayed inside the How led by the minotaur Asterius joined Peter, Edmund and his troops outflanking the Telmarine cavalry. Most likely recognizing the danger his cavalry force was in, the Telmarine General Sopespian immediately took the rest of the Telmarine army, almost all infantry and marched forward to confront the Narnians. He also ordered trebuchets to bombard Aslan's How. The trebuchet attack is successful and scatters the Narnian archers and also destroys the gate, effectively cutting off Caspian's retreat. The battle now seems to end up being with no clear winner when with a stroke a luck, Lucy finally finds Aslan, who wakes the trees which make a surprise attack on the Telmarine troops, including one scene where a tree's roots crush a trebuchet. The Telmarines retreat towards the bridge, where one Telmarine general mentions that they could survive if they make it to the bridge. This is most likely since the trees will have little or no strength crossing the beach and since the Telmarine force is lacking its cavalry force, its infantry will have an advantage in an enclosed area such as the bridge against the Narnian troops. However when the River God destroys the bridge all is lost, Sopesian is killed and the Telmarines are routed.
The creatures that fought for Aslan are wolves, stags, tigers, panthers, fauns, minotaurs, centaurs and others
Aftermath
The Telmarine army was defeated here and Prince Caspian now had no opponents to the throne. With his only opponent being Miraz's newborn son, he was crowned King Caspian X of Narnia and Emporer of the Lones Isles by Aslan. Narnia was then returned to the talking beasts, who were the rightful citizens.
