Mrs. Wormwood (Matilda)

Mrs. Wormwood (Matilda)

Mrs. Zinnia Wormwood is a fictional character in the British bestselling children's book Matilda (novel) by Roald Dahl. She is the mother of Michael and Matilda Wormwood and the wife of Mr. Wormwood. While she is sometimes abusive to Matilda, she is also sometimes nice to her.

Tricks

Mrs. Wormwood is hardly ever tricked by Matilda, judging by the fact that she is sometimes nice to Matilda, as opposed to Mr. Wormwood, who is never nice to Matilda; therefore, he is always the primary victim of her tricks to get back at him. In one of the tricks in the film, she strains to pull his hat off of his head, but it's stuck tight. As she tries to, they both fall in the restaurant which causes the berry pastry to land on Matilda's plate.
