The Clarence Park Festival is a music festival held annually at Clarence Park, Wakefield, and has been in operation since 1991^[1]. Because it is a free festival, there are often issues regarding the funding of the event, leading to its cancellation in 2006^[2]. Local promoters (WTP Promotions in 2007 & 2008) are often given slots to use as prizes for Battle of Bands events held in Wakefield. All other artists are chosen by The Music Collective via an application process which is published on their website. Bands such as Last Days of Vengeance, Coney Island Jesus and Kiss the Dawn have performed at the event. Estimates at the attendance of the festival range between 2,000 - 8,000. The event has been organised since it's conception by The Wakefield Music Collective, a voluntary organisation to which anyone can become a member.
