- French Prealps
The French Prealps ("Préalpes") are the group of
mountain range s of medium elevation at the periphery of theFrench Alps , stretching fromLake Geneva south-west to theDrôme River . They lie west of the lineChamonix -Albertville -Grenoble .The mountain ranges are, from north-east to south-west:
*Chablais (highest summitHauts-Forts , 2,464 m)
*Aravis (highest summitPointe Percée , 2,750 m)
*Bornes (highest summitPointe Blanche , 2,438 m)
*Bauges (highest summitArcalod , 2,217 m)
