Rubén José Suñé (born March 7 1947 in Buenos Aires) is a former Argentine football midfielder who won eight titles with Boca Juniors and also played for the Argentina national team [ [http://www.rsssf.com/players/arg-players-6498.html Argentina international players] ] .

Suñé started his professional career in 1967 with Boca Juniors where he was part of the squad that won the 1967 Nacional. In 1969 Boca won the "Copa Argentina" and in 1970 they won another Nacional championship.

Suñé made his international debut in 1969 and played a total of six games for Argentina.

On March 17 1971 Suñé was involved in a notorious Copa Libertadores match against Peruvian side Sporting Cristal where all but two of the Boca Juniors players were sent off after an on pitch battle involving all the players except Julio Meléndez Calderón and the two goalkeepers.

Suñé was sold to Huracán in 1973 and in 1975 he joined Unión de Santa Fe.

In 1976 the new Boca Juniors Juan Carlos Lorenzo brought Suñé back to the club. During the next few years Boca had one of the most successful periods in their history claiming two league championships two Copa Libertadores titles and the 1977 Copa Intercontinental.

Suñé joined San Lorenzo for one final season in 1981. In 1984 he suffered a bout of severe depression, but he recovered and took up a coaching role with the Boca Juniors youth team.
