Lega Nord Friuli-Venezia Giulia (North League Friuli-Venezia Giulia) is a regionalist Italian political party which is the regional section of
Lega Nord inFriuli-Venezia Giulia .It was founded in
1990 as Lega Nord Friuli and was later merged with Lega Nord Trieste to form a united regional section. Most of its founding members came from theFriuli Movement .The party, who is led by
Pietro Fontanini since2008 [http://www.regione.fvg.it/rafvg/ansa/dettaglio.act?ansa=20080727.011&dir=/rafvg/cms/RAFVG/ansa/] , is represented in the institutions by two deputies (Fulvio Follegot andMassimiliano Fedriga ), one senator (Mario Pittoni ) and eight regional deputies. Pietro Fontanini is the President of theProvince of Udine , whileEduard Ballaman is the President of the Regional Council.Popular support
In the past ten years Lega Nord suffered big lossess in term of votes. Anyway, the strongholds of the party remain in
Friuli , the eastern part of the region: in the 2008 general election it won 19.0% in theProvince of Pordenone and 14.4% in Udine.The electoral results of Lega Nord in
