- Lega Nord Emilia
Lega Nord Emilia (North League Emilia) is a regionalist Italian political party active in the Emilian part of
Emilia-Romagna .It was founded in the 1980s by
Fabio Dosi as Emilian-Romagna League ("Lega Emiliano-Romagnola", thus comprising alsoRomagna ). The party participated to the 1989 European Parliament election as part of the coalitionLega Lombarda – Alleanza Nord . In 1989-1990 it took part in the process of federating the Northern regionalist parties, ahead of the regional elections, taking the current name. Since then it is one of the two regional sections ofLega Nord in Emilia-Romagna, the other beingLega Nord Romagna .The current national secretary is
Angelo Alessandri , who is also federal president of Lega Nord. In the 2008 general election the party elected four deputies (including Alessandri himself andGianluca Pini , leader of Lega Nord Romagna) and two senators (including the leader of "Extreme South" and Deputy-Mayor ofLampedusa Angela Maraventano ). It controls also three seats in the Regional Council of Emilia-Romagna.Popular support
Lega Nord is much stronger in Emilian provinces than in
Romagna : in the 2008 general election it won 14.2% in Piacenza, 11.5% in Parma, 8.5% in Reggio Emilia, 8.9% in Modena, 4.8% in Bologna and 7.7% in Ferrara.The combined electoral results of Lega Nord Emilia and
