Sonopant Dandekar

Shankar Vaman Dandekar (1896-1969) was an Indian philosopher and educationalist.

Sonopant Dandekar (or 'Sonumama' Dandekar) was an important interpreter of Bhakti Sampraday (Warkari sect) in India. He served Philosophy Dept of Sir Parshurambhau College in Pune for more than 30 years. He was also instrumental in editing and publishing several Hindu religious texts in Sanskrit and Marathi.

His funeral was attended by thousands of devotees.
