Plenette Pierson is a professional WNBA player for the Detroit Shock. In the 2007 season, Pierson won the first ever Sixth Woman of the Year Award given in the WNBA.

College

Pierson played college basketball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders women's basketball team. She graduated in 2003.

WNBA

Pierson won two championships with the Shock, one in 2003 and one in 2006. Pierson is loved in Detroit for her hustle and ability to get to the basket. In the season opener against the Houston Comets, Pierson scored 19 points of the bench.On July 22, 2008, in a game versus the L.A. Sparks, Plenette was involved in a scuffle with Sparks forward Candace Parker. She was suspended four games for her involvement by the WNBA.
