Osisioma

Osisioma Local Government Area is one of the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria. It is located in Abia State and is one of the 17 L.G.A s of Abia State. The Local Government area is headed by an Executive Chairman. He is the democratically elected official responsible for the administration and day to day running of the Local Council.The Present Chairman is Hon.(Dr)Christian Kamalu,who was elected in 2008 under the platform of the Progressive Peoples Alliance(PPA).

The word Osisioma is an Igbo name that translates to "Good Tree" in English. The area is fertile and suitable for agriculture.
