- Wilbury Hill Camp
Wilbury Hill Camp is a
late Bronze Age (c.700 BC)hillfort to the SW ofLetchworth Hertfordshire (Grid Reference : TL20213245). It andArbury Banks nearAshwell it are two of a band of six similarhillforts along the northernChilterns . The site is marked by two circular defences formed by single banks and external ditches. Although these are no longer conspicuous on the ground,although distinctcropmarks generated by the buried features have beenrecorded byaerial photography since the 1950s.During the
Middle Iron Age (c.400 BC), more substantial banks wereconstructed.A large number of
