Stokeinteignhead is a village in the Teignbridge district of the English county of Devon. It is situated near the larger village of Shaldon on the River Teign and is twinned with the French commune of Trévières, Calvados.

Despite its closeness to the river Teign, the name "Stokeinteignhead" is not derived from it: in the Domesday Book the district contained thirteen manors which totalled an area of ten hides and the whole area was known as the "Ten Hide". This was later corrupted to "Teignhead" through the influence of the river name. The name of the nearby village of Combeinteignhead has a similar derivation. [Gover, J.E.B., Mawer, A. & Stenton, F.M. (1931). "The Place-Names of Devon". English Place-Names Society. Vol viii. Part II. Cambridge University Press. P.459.]

Stokeinteignhead Village Hall was demolished in 2005 after decades of use, the original idea was to re-build it in the same location at road height. It was however decided that it would be built in the school field oposite the now closed resturant, The Chasers. Construction began in 2006 taking months to complete. The new Village Hall is now used regually and has now got great new features including a main hall, kitchen and meeting room.

The village church, dating from the 14th century and enlarged in the 15th is dedicated to Saint Andrew. Its high altar was dedicated by Bishop Grandisson in 1336.Cite book
