Surface target

Surface target

As the name suggests, a surface target is a military target located on the surface of the Earth. This includes facilities, such as airfield runways and supply depots, ground units, such as tanks and artillery, and ships, such as cruisers and carriers. It excludes targets not on the Earth's surface, such as submarines, underground bunkers, and aircraft in flight.
