The "Taiko" is a RoRo freighter managed by the Norwegian/Swedish Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics shipping line. Built in South Korea, the ship was converted from a pure freight carrier to a car carrier at some point in its career,Fact|date=March 2008 and was once called "Barber Hector-88" In addition to its car decks, loaded and unloaded through a ramp with 400 tonnes carrying capacity (via a 6.4 m high and 12.5 m wide hatch), it has two hoistable decks.
