A member of the prestigious TATA Group, Computational Research Laboratories (CRL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of TATA Sons Limited. CRL is headquartered in Pune, India and has a branch office in US. Founded in 2006, with a novel mission to make high-performance computing affordable and accessible globally, CRL has emerged as an HPC solutions company helping its customers deal with the complex challenges of fully exploiting the benefits of HPC. CRL offers the entire spectrum of solutions, ranging from IaaS to all the way upto HPC led innovation as a service.

In November 2007, a supercomputer named EKA was built at CRL with technical support from Hewlett-Packard and $30 million USD of funding from Tata Sons. At the time it was the fastest supercomputer in Asia and 4th fastest in the world.[1] As per the results of the International Supercomputing Conference held in November 2010, EKA is the 47th fastest supercomputer in the world.
