Beth Soloe

Beth Soloe (born in Titusville, Florida on November 9th, 1968) is the current Executive Director of Nevada NORML located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nevada NORML is one of the leading advocacy groups within the state of Nevada for the legalization of marijuana. While in Indiana she had met current Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels about the prospect of getting the governor to back medical marijuana in the state as quoted in the article from the Bloomington Alternative at http://www.bloomingtonalternative.com/node/7967. She also attempted to educate Indiana Legislators and written a medical marijuana bill that was presented to State Senator Vi Simpson as quoted in the article http://www.bloomingtonalternative.com/node/7995 and http://cannabisnews.com/news/21/thread21917.shtml

Soloe rose in the ranks of marijuana reform activism from her home state in Indiana under the guided wing of current NORML chairman and Indianapolis attorney Steve Dillon where she served as the Executive Director for INORML (www.inorml.org) which is the Indiana State Chapter for marijuana reform. She met and befriended many long time activists such as Kentucky Attorney Gatewood Galbraith, long time activist Jack Herer, attorney Keith Stroup, founder of NORML, Casper Leitch from www.time4hemp.com, Attorney Nancy Lord, graduate of Georgetown Law School and on the National NORML legal advisory board, and Christopher Boucher from Hempsteads.com to form a coalition of good friends who she can turn to for advice in times of need.

Soloe was also featured in a story in High Times magazine (http://www.hightimes.com/ht/news/content.php?bid=617&aid=3) and in the Las Vegas Weekly at (http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/content/fileadmin/oldsite/2007/04/26/inter2.html) in 2006 right after the Vegas 420 Music Fest was shut down by the city of Las Vegas. She led the global marijuana march in 2006 at Las Vegas City Hall, and in protest of the city closing down Nevada NORML's Music Festival that was scheduled on April 20th, 2006 at the Ice House Lounge on Main Street in Las Vegas. Beth participated in the failed 2006 campaign spearheaded by CRCM who was funded by the Marijuana Policy Project at mpp.org who in return was largely funded by George Soros. The group is also listed with the Nevada State Department of Agriculture who runs the medical marijuana program in Nevada as she helps qualified medical patients who meet state requirements to find a medical doctor in Nevada who will give those patients the required medical recommendation for state compliance to be legally registered. Soloe continues to run Nevada NORML and is currently working on an initiative to legalize marijuana in the state of Nevada in 2010.

She is married to her husband Billy Soloe who is also a board member of Nevada NORML and she has 7 children, her oldest son, Christopher, who attends Richmond, Kentucky and his [national guard [ unit has recently been deployed to Afghanistan.
