June 24 ,1983 inPunta Hermosa ,Lima, Peru ) is a Peruvian surfer ofCroatia n descent. She is the first Peruvian surfer ever to win anAssociation of Surfing Professionals World Championship Tour event. She is the firstSouth American to ever win the World Title. In 2004, she won three out of the six World Championship Tour events and finished the season as World Champion. She is sponsored by Roxy.On July 27th, 2007, Sofia Mulanovich was inducted into the Surfers Hall of Fame during its 10th Anniversary celebrations. She is the first South American to have this honor, having had a major impact on the sport.
