Princess Fadia of Egypt

Princess Fadia of Egypt

Princess Fadia Farouk (15 December1943-28 December2002) was the youngest daughter of the late King Farouk of Egypt and his first wife, the former Farida Favzira. When Farouk was deposed in July 1952, Fadia was sent to boarding school in Switzerland.

On 17 February 1965, at the Kensington Registry Office, she married Pierre Alexievitch Orloff, who converted to Islam, taking the name Sa'id Orloff. Her father, King Farouq, did not attend the wedding and was not approving of the marriage, as seen that Alexievitch was not Muslim at the time of the marriage. They had two sons, Shamel and Ali.

Princess Fadia died in Lausanne, Switzerland and was buried at Cairo, Egypt.
