Kana Kaanum Kaalangal

Concept

Kana Kaanum Kaalangal is a series on school life with a huge fan following among the youth and the elderly alike. Set against a school drop this serial revolves around the adolescent lives of students.

While the youth can identify and relate to the characters and adults watch the show to reminiscence about their school days and get to know their kids better.

Healthy competition, fights, jealousy, friendship are common to any student's life and these form the themes of the show. The theme song of the show is now a hit, and was composed by the renowned music director Vijay Anthony.

Launched in October, 2006 the series completed its 5000 episodes.

Cast & Characters

** Vineeth: A brilliant orator, he is loyal to his friends.

** Krishna: Nicknamed 'Krish', he is a good keyboard player.

** Rishi: Techno savvy but does not use his talent wisely, he is Patchai's close friend.

** Sister Saraswathi: The oldest in the class. Has failed many years and has retained in the same class. Gives major advices to all.

** Unni: He comes from a rich family. His father works in Dubai.

** Sanghavi: She is possessive and passionate. Her best friend was Vinneth. She hates Raghavi, her adopted sister. She died by falling out of the school bathroom.

** Raghavi: Raghavi has lost her family in Tsunami and has been adopted by Sanghavi's parents. Very affectionate towards her adoptive parents and Sanghavi even though Sanghavi hates her. Also a studious girl who comes first in school, she wins all her friends' hearts with her kind and sweet nature. She writes poetry, plays the veena and aspires to become a doctor.

** Bala: An energetic young boy. Excels in sports but disinterested in studies. He is the biggest hope of the school in all the inter-school sports events. Leader of current 11th gang.

** Joe: He speaks in a poetic manner and is considered as the modern day Tamil Shakespeare. His ambition: To be a world-renowned playwright but his family wants him to be a successful professional.

** Patchai: Highly intelligent boy with good academic performance but suffers from deep inferiority complex due to his financial and social background. Had a crush for Raghavi because of which he lost his mom and his father's love.

** Pandiyan: Hails from Tirunelvelli. Father owns a departmental store and hence there is no trouble for money. Has studied the maximum in his family (10th STD). Speaks in Tirunelvelli slang. He is well known for his humuor. Yet he is a very loyal friend who has a good heart.

** Deepa: Has no parents and lives with her aunt and uncle, who treat her like a slave.
