Ganna Smirnova

Ganna Smirnova, The founder and the Art Director of theatre "Nakshatra", is the professional performer of classical dance Bharatanatyam and is the illustrious graduate of Institute of Fine Arts "Abhi-nayaa" Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi.

For her high quality of performances, she has received enthusiastic response dance critics, has got rave reviews and has been brought in the list of the avowed artist of Ministry of Culture of India.

Since childhood, Ganna has been studying ballet and the Ukrainian national dance under the direction of the well-known dancer, soloist ensemble of Virsky of Lilya Melnichenok. In student's years she was fond of studying of eastern philosophy and practised yoga, Tai-zi-chuan and Shigun.

In 1998, Ganna received the grant of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Indian Council of Cultural Relations) of India to study Indian classical dance Bharatanatyam in New Delhi where under a direction world well-known dancers and guru Jayalakshmi Eshwar graduated Diploma and Post Diploma course of Institute.

Ganna graduated Master degree of Institute "Abhi-naya". Ganna took part in ballet compositions of her guru, and the lectures- demonstrations, and also regularly performed with solo concerts in Delhi and other cities of India. Having returned in Kiev Ganna established studio- theatre of Indian dance "Nakshatra" which works at T. G. Shevchenko University. "Nakshatra" conducts lessons of Indian classical dances and yoga, organizes festivals of the Indian classical dance and music, an exhibition of painting of the Indian and Ukrainian artists, lectures- demonstrations and master classes of famous gurus, performance of students, directs students for studying Indian arts in India, carries out lectures and trainings in other cities of Ukraine.
