In addition artistic and humorous pieces, The League is known for its social and political commentary. The League was one of the few sources for reports, commentary and analysis on Baltimore City politics and policy and wrote extensively on state politics.

The group and the affiliated 'The Baltimore Writer's Project' halted activity in 2007 following personal disputes.

History

The League was formed as a performance arts group in 2001 by three students at Calvert Hall College. After several performances at Baltimore-area high schools and churches, The League recorded its first full-length album in summer 2003. Two years later, [http://www.baltimorewritersproject.com/blog The League:Reassembled] was launched and soon followed by [http://www.wmucradio.com/stream_ripper/Thursday/The_League__Radio_Edit_900_1000.mp3 The League: Radio Edit] .
