Latvijas dzelzceļš

Latvijas dzelzceļš or LDz is the main state-owned railway company in Latvia with more than 13000 employees. It has 7 daughter companies:

* Starptautiskie pasažieru pārvadājumi (International Passenger Transportations)
* VRC Zasulauks (Reconstruction centre Zasulauks)
* LDZ apsardze (LDz Security)
* LDz infrastruktūra (LDz Infrastructure)
* LDz Cargo
* LDz ritošā sastāva serviss (LDz Rolling Stock Service)

The main passenger lines are electrified:
* Riga Passenger station – Jelgava;
* Torņakalns – Tukums 2;
* Riga Passenger station – Zemitāni - Skulte;
* Riga Passenger station – Aizkraukle;
* Zemitāni – Šķirotava.
