Hope Court, NJ

Hope Court can be found in the Hope Township, New Jersey (Population: 3,081). The town of Hope is well known for it's amusement park "Land of Make Believe". But it also houses one of the best Streetball courts in Warren County, Hope Court aka "The Cage". Hope court is located near Hope Township School and right down the road from Gio's Pizzaria and what used to be Skip's General store (as seen in the original "Friday the 13th" movie). Some characteristics of the court include a map of the US painted on the black top (which makes for some challeging shots), the hole in the key on the North end of the court (where many ankles have been turned) and also the fact that the South goal is a little shorter than regulation (Perfect for dunking) and let's not forget the double rims. The court was home to some of the best ballers in the area including Andrew "Spyda-Man" Demarest, Joe "Big Joe" LaRena, Ed Demarest, Ron VanScoten, Corey "C-Ratt" Ratliff, Joe "Little Joe" Holinko, and Jessie "Bake Show" Baker. The court became a summer ritual for kids to hang out and play ball. Everyday would be a new pick-up game, Game of Taps, or H.O.R.S.E that would last until dark. After Dark car headlights would be turned on to illuminate the court and break the rule of "NO PLAYING AFTER DARK" and with a little help from an extension cord there would be music to compliment the basketball. People from NY, PA and all over Jersey would come here to play.

Hope Court is also know for being the birthplace of the Streetball game "Hard to Make a Layup" and was also home to the street team "The Unleashed" who played in the Nike sponsored Hoop it Up International 3 on 3 tournament at Fairleigh Dickinson University home of the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights in Teaneck, New Jersey. "The Unleashed" was comprised of the Demarest Brothers, Josh Hammerstone, and Brian Grant.
