Joseph Médard Carrière (1902–1970), was a
Franco-Ontarian French-language scholar.Academic background
One of his specialisms was
folklore , and he taught for many years at theUniversity of Virginia .Carrière's papers are lodged in the archives of the
University of Laval .Recent interest in his work
Some of his more well-known French transcription work, which cites the storytelling of
