William Daniel Macleod (born
May 13 ,1942 inGloucester, Massachusetts ) is a formerrelief pitcher inMajor League Baseball who played briefly for theBoston Red Sox during the 1962 season. Listed at 6' 2", 190 lb., he batted and threwleft-handed .In 1960, MacLeod had a 9-0 record during his final season at Gloucester High School. He also had a decent season in 1961, going 8-6 for the PCL
Seattle Rainiers , and entered the majors in 1962 with the Red Sox. In two releief appearances, MacLeod posted a 0-1 record with twostrikeout s, one walk, four hits allowed, and a 5.40 ERA in 1⅔ innings of work. MacLeod was back in the minors in 1963. In 1965, while pitching for Double-A Pittsfield in the Eastern League, he finished with a 18-0 record. Counting his final four decisions of the 1964 season, he won 22 consecutive games. He retired after the 1968 season.ee also
