Peter Cardy, born Peter Stubbings, is a leading professional in the non-governmental sector in the
United Kingdom . In the early 1970s, he was Deputy Director of the National Volunteer Centre, later renamed theNational Centre for Volunteering . From 2001 to 2007, Peter Cardy was chief executive of the Macmillan Cancer Relief, the foremost charity enabling the care of people suffering from cancer. Following his appointment to Macmillan Cancer Relief, Peter Cardy was interviewed by Hannah Brown ofThe Lancet .
