2008 Formula Renault 2.0 West European Cup season

This is the first season of the WEC series [http://www.renault-sport.fr/fr/circuit/france_2000/news.php?news=69489.html Perspectives internationales] "renault-sport.fr" (November 8, 2007)] . It include the French Formula Renault championship rewarding the best french driver [ [http://www.ffsa.org/article.php?id=16561 Une course dans la course avec le Championnat de France] "ffsa.org" (February 20, 2008)] and reward also the Rookies driver and the Challenger Cup for drivers using formulae with the 2004 aerodynamic kit [ [http://www.frwec.com/reg.php?champ=38&langue=en Titles awarded] "frwec.com" (October 2, 2008)] .

* Point system : 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for 10th. In each race 1 point for Fastest lap and 1 for Pole position.
* Races : 2 race by rounds (first between 60 and 80 km, second between 20 to 30 minutes).

In the round 6 in Valencia, Daniel Ricciardo, Andrea Caldarelli and Jean-Eric Vergne were disqualified for technical regulation non conformity in their SG Formula's rear wings [ [http://www.frwec.com/release.php?langue=fr&champ=38&id=461 Le gros lot pour Lariche] "frwec.com" (June 22, 2008)] . Benjamin Lariche, initialy third, win the race.

2008 Formula Renault 2.0 Italia season

*Point system : 32, 28, 24, 22, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 for 15th. In each race 2 point for Fastest lap and 2 for Pole position.
*Races : 2 race by rounds length of 30 minutes each.

In summer, 3 collectif test take place. In June 17 in Misano World Circuit, in July 10 in Autodromo Nazionale Monza and in July 23 in Mugello Circuit. The last session was a complete race simulation with practice, qualifying and races.

2008 Fórmula Júnior FR2.0 Portugal season

This is the first season of the Fórmula Júnior FR2.0 held in Portugal. The series, which is the first single-seater championship in Portugal since the end of Formula BMW in 2004, uses Tatuus Formula Renault chassis with Renault 2.0 L engines and Michelin tyres.
*Point system: 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for 10th. Each round awards 1 point for pole-position and each race awards 1 point for fastest lap.
*Races: 2 races per round.

The Estoril rounds held on August, 29-30 is raced in the same venue as the West European Cup serie. This race is optional for drivers and reward points only if all racers are involved [ [http://formulajunior.net/calendario.htm Formula Junior Portugal, calendario] "formulajunior.net" ] .

2008 Asian Formula Renault Challenge season

*Point system : 30, 24, 20, 17, 15, 13, 11, 9, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for 14th. No points for Fastest lap or Pole position. Drivers, that start their season at round 5 or later, don't receive any points for the final standing. The team point attribution is different from the driver point system : 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
*Races : 2 races by rounds.

The Asian Challenge Category (A) reward the best asian driver. The China Formula Renault Challenge (C) reward the best driver including only rounds held on China. The IFC Trophy (IFC) reward the young drivers.

2008 GP2 Series seasons

The GP2 Series and GP2 Asia Series are powered by 4 liters, V8 Renault engine and Bridgestone tyres with a Dallara chassis.

2008 Formula 2000 Light season

This is the first season of the Formula 2000 Ligh held in Italy. The series use Tatuus Formula Renault or Formula 3 chassis with Renault 2000cc maximum engines and Michelin tyres.
*Point system : 32, 28, 24, 22, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 for 15th. In each race 2 point for Fastest lap and 3 for Pole position.
*Races : 2 races by rounds.

The championship reward several categories :
*Over 35 : for drivers older than 35 years old (+).
*Under 17 : for drivers younger than 17 years old (-).
*Formula 3 : for drivers using Formula 3 chassis (F3).

2008 Fórmula 4 Metropolitana season

This is the first season of the Fórmula 4 Metropolitana series held on Argentina [ [http://www.sportmotor.com.ar/frenault.htm Nace la Fórmula 4 Metropolitana] "sportmotor.com.ar" (September 23, 2007)] . Cars use Renault Clio K4M engine (1598cc) with low power than the main Fórmula 4 Nacional series. Teams can choose chassis manufacturer (Tulia, Tito...).
The series is held in the same rounds than its main series Fórmula 4 Nacional in 10 venues held on Autódromo Roberto Mouras, Autódromo 9 de Julio and Autódromo Sudamericano de Olavarría.
