Lee Ufan

Lee Ufan

Lee Ufan (born 1936 in Kyongnam, Korea) is a Korean artist.

In 1956 he moved to Yokohama, Japan and studied philosophy. In 1973 he became a professor at the Tama Art University in Tokyo. He won the Praemium Imperiale prize for painting in 1996. The following year he was appointed guest professor at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

His work has been featured at many museums including the Yokohama Museum of Art and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul.
