Werner Heel (born March 23, 1982 in
Merano ) is a professional Italian alpine skier.Werner Heel grew up in
St. Leonhard in Passeier and currently resides there. At the age of four he actually started skiing. His main disciplines aredownhill and super-G. In order to be competitive in super combined he also practicesslalom . In 2004 he won the Italian championship in super-G atCaspoggio . During the season 2004/2005 Werner Heel achieved his best results in the European Cup with two third places at the
downhill races in Roccarso andBad Kleinkirchheim and a fourth place at the super-G race inTarvisio .World championship
In 2007 he participated in the World Championship in
Åre without finishing his run in super combined. In super-G he placed 27th.Worldcup
Werner Heel debuted in the
Alpine skiing World Cup onDecember 28 ,2001 at the Stelviodownhill inBormio , finishing 37th. In the 2006/2007 season he was the first time in the top ten at theKvitfjell downhill and finished 12th inLake Louise .The season 2007/2008 started very well for the southtyrolian athlete, finishing 6th at the
Lake Louise downhill . He won his first race onFebruary 29 ,2008 at theKvitfjell downhill . One day later he reconfirmed his potential finishing third at the samedownhill . He concluded the 2007/2008 season with his best super-G result, a 7th place in Bormio onMarch 13 2008 .Race victories
