Taylor University College and Seminary is a private college in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The College and Seminary is "Aspiring to be a leading evangelical centre of academic excellence and Christian character."

History

The college was established in 1939 as a as "Christian Training Institute". In 1949 the school became affiliated to the North American Baptist Conference.Cite web|url=http://www.taylor-edu.ca/about/history.htm|title=History|author=Taylor University College and Seminary|accessdate=2008-03-04] It was accredited by the Department of Education of Alberta in 1952.

A seminary was added in 1958. A major extension was carried out in 1968, including an administration building, two dormitories, the Student Union Building, and the Services and Storage Building, at a cost of over $1,000,000. The institute was renamed to "North American Baptist College" and endorsed by the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges the same year. On July 29, 1988, the college was affiliated ith the University of Alberta

Programs

In May 2001, the Private College Accreditation Board of Alberta approved accreditation of the college, which offered provincially accredited BA programs in the fields of Religion, Theology, English, and General Studies.
